Upgrade for Dummies
Yesterday I decide to upgrade my website software to the latest version…I usually do not do this because I am not a fan of change…being repetitive is a comfort zone for me…I can do the same exact thing for the next 20 years and be just as happy as the first day….so changing things makes me very uneasy…so you might be wondering why I upgraded then….simple, I knew it was the right thing to do and I could hear John nagging in my head explaining the importance of upgrades….I then wanted to feel cool telling John I upgraded….
The upgrade button appears on the dashboard and had been sitting there for awhile…I wish I just had ignored it, but I felt a bit frisky and clicked the button. I hate those wild hair moments….
Once the upgrade was complete I went to the site and to my horror I noticed most of my stuff was now gone…I am now left with having to put it back together….you might notice all of my menus have changed and 98% of my pages are missing. I spent most of yesterday rebuilding. I needed John at one point to paste code for me, I didnt have the patience to look thru that nightmare…but apparently I copied the code wrong and when John put it in it actually erased the entire site….John then had to work on it from his computer…I now own him like a million favors for this..which of course I know exactly what the favors will be…
